Kallola is a graphic designer and illustrator who feels privileged to call both Kuki Airani (Cook Islands) and Aotearoa (New Zealand) home.
Surrounded by an endless source of inspiration in nature, this artwork is just a small peek into the beauty and abundance that makes Rarotonga such a special place.
This series was inspired by retro travel posters from a bygone era, combined with studies of the natural world found in the notebooks of early explorers.
As a person of mixed heritage growing up not feeling as connected with my Cook Islands roots, being at the beginning of this journey of reconnecting with my turanga can sometimes feel like I’m a traveller, exploring my ipukarea. The expression of these works is inspired by this experience.
These stunning prints are available in sizes: A3, A4 and postcard size.
